Bridal Alterations: Most Commonly Asked Questions
Congratulations bride! You’ve said yes to your perfect dress… the next step is getting the perfect fit!
When do I start dress fittings?
We start alterations 8-10 weeks before the wedding. If you bought your dress with us, one of our stylists will reach out to you when it’s time to get you scheduled!
How many fittings will I have?
Most brides have 3 fittings, but you can expect to have more if you’re doing a significant amount of custom work.
How much do alterations cost?
The average bride spends $600-$900 on alterations. Everything is priced based on the work that needs to be done to the gown, so it may be less and it may be more. We’re happy to provide a quote beforehand!
When do I pay for alterations?
The tailor will go over the pricing of your alterations at the end of the first fitting. Payment will be due at this time. If you’d like to receive a quote beforehand, give us a call to book your Alterations Quote Appointment.
What do I need to bring?
You’ll need to bring your shoes to every appointment, as well as any shapewear or undergarments you plan on wearing.
Can I still do alterations with you even if I bought my dress elsewhere?
We take limited outside alterations depending on the season and the availability of our tailors. Call or email us to inquire!
